Discover Roussillon’s Culinary Gem: L’Escalier Restaurant
Cuisine: French
There are places in the world that feel almost too enchanting to be real, and Roussillon in Provence is one of them. With its red ochre cliffs, quiet cobblestone streets, and golden-hour light that seems to linger forever, it’s already an unforgettable destination. But nestled within this dreamy village is L’Escalier, a restaurant that turns your visit into something even more special.

From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for a treat. The food was nothing short of extraordinary—thoughtfully prepared, deeply flavorful, and infused with the essence of Provence.
We began with escargots, and they were on another level—perfectly tender, buttery, and rich with herbs. Then came the beef tartare, which was hands down one of the best we’ve ever tasted. Fresh, finely chopped, and seasoned to perfection, it struck the perfect balance between rustic and refined. We also tried the pâté, which was exceptionally smooth and flavorful, served with thoughtful accompaniments that brought everything together beautifully.

But the star of the show? The lavender panna cotta. This dessert was unlike anything we’ve had before—light, delicately floral, and incredibly memorable. We loved it so much, we immediately ordered a second one. It perfectly captured the spirit of Provence in a single bite.

L’Escalier is one of those rare finds where the location, atmosphere, and food come together in perfect harmony. If you ever find yourself wandering through Roussillon, don’t miss this place. It’s one of the most magical meals you’ll have in the South of France.
